Christmas Inspired Bedroom

There are only few more days left before Christmas. For sure, you’ve already adorned every part of your house with decors that remind you of the Christmas season. It’s customary to decorate the porch and the living room, but don’t you think it would be more exciting to sleep and wake up in a Christmas inspired bedroom?

You don’t need to bring in those huge Christmas trees, life-sized Santa or snowman into your private haven. Just by incorporating the right and simple Christmas color combinations and by placing teeny-weeny yuletide stuffs, you will definitely feel the holiday spirit as you chill out after a long exhausting day.

Start dressing up your bedroom for the holiday by changing your bed linens. Use the Christmas colors such as bright red, gray, blue and green for your bedding.  If you want to slip under the covers with designs that perfectly fit for the season, there are also bedding sets printed with snowflakes, Santa, snowman and garlands that you can purchase.

Have you ever thought of a winter wonderland theme for your bedroom? Why not? Simply use a white quilt or white fur to achieve that winter-y atmosphere. You may also add white accent rugs.

You shouldn't fail to decorate your windows. Replace those plain curtains with Christmas inspired drapes. There are also curtain decors that are designed for the season such as ribbon curtain tie backs, poinsettia, metal curtain rods adorned with snowflakes. Just make sure to match your curtains with the color scheme in your room and check if these accessories will match your curtains. Windows and doors adorned with wreaths will also add some holiday sparks.

We mentioned teeny weeny things, right? Small Christmas figurines or a miniature Christmas tree are perfect to place in your bedside table or dresser. You don't need to spend much in your tree; you can use extra decors from your main Christmas tree. Make sure that the Christmas lights will coordinate with the colors of the room.

Top off your decoration by placing Christmas stockings in your bed frames that will match your bedroom theme. White Christmas stockings are ideal if your bedroom has a winter wonderland theme.

Christmas Decorating Ideas for your Porch

Now that Halloween’s over and we’re about to celebrate another holiday, it’s about time to keep those spider webs, witches, black cats and other Halloween accessories.  Replace those scary decors with adornments that will excite you more while counting the days left until Christmas. Start decorating from the outside and give your porch a touch of Christmas. Incorporate the customary colors of red and green in your decorations.

Since lights are more often than not part of Christmastime, you can add outdoor lanterns with battery operated candles in your porch. Make your doorway brighter at nighttime by placing garlands swathed with twinkling Christmas lights in your door frame. Garlands with red and green Christmas lights can also be placed around your windows. Unleash your creative side as you turn your door into a giant Christmas present. Wrap your door with a shiny Christmas foil and stick bows and ribbon on it.

Include plants that remind you of the Christmas season such as poinsettia (also called Christmas star), butcher’s broom, Christmas cactus and cyclamen. If you don’t want to spend much on Christmas plants and you already have green plants, you can tie red ribbons around them to create a holiday feel.

Your entryway is also perfect to be decorated with Santa figures, a snowman, Christmas trees, reindeer and colorful gifts. Create a winter wonderland theme by combining white Christmas lights. For places that don’t get snow during the holidays, add lighted snowflakes and sprinkle artificial snows in your porch decorations for a snowy effect.

For your walls and ceiling, place spider webs, plastic spiders and bats. Put black or orange candles in black or rust silver candlesticks for your dining table or countertops. You can also opt for carved pumpkins that are lighted with candles or flashlight instead of candles. For a creepier atmosphere, add in tablecloths embellished with skulls or printed with black cats or owls. Blood red, orange or deep purple tablecloths are also prefect to use.

Forget about your bowls; use a cauldron and a dipper for your soup instead of a bowl. Add in black or Halloween inspired tableware. Match the goodies that you serve with the occasion. Use cookie cutters and serve ghosts, witches, brooms, and spider web cookies. Unleash your creativity and form witches' hats, coffins, skulls and spiders that are made from chocolates. Stretch your imagination and decorate your plain cupcakes and make them yummy yet spooky. For your refreshments, serve grape soda. Grape soda resembles blood. Thus, it adds an eerier effect.

Lighting will also give a creepier ambiance. Use red or green bulbs.  You may also place black and orange candles in glasses or in white candle holders. If you prefer to use white candles instead of orange or black ones, apply stains of fake blood using red wax or red paint. Candelabras are also perfect to use in your living room. For a scarier effect, place jack-o-lanterns with light bulbs that are dim.

How to Spice up your Masters Bedroom

If there is a single spot in the house where privacy is always observed and is perfect for couples to have a complete relaxation after a tiring day of work, definitely it’s the master’s bedroom. Transform your master’s bedroom into an exciting and romantic haven by observing these simple tips.

http://www.homedesignlover.com

Set the mood for intimacy in your master’s bedroom as you use red hues. Shades of red like burgundy, vermillion, scarlet red, maroon and cherry red can turn your bedroom into a passionate space. If you’re hesitant to use red because of its overpowering effect, you can tone down the intensity of this color by adding neutral colors like ivory or creams in your color scheme.

http://www.pambaboma.com

You can also use any of the red shades mentioned as your accent wall while painting the rest of the walls with ivory or you may apply red to your decorations or accessories, like the curtains in your bedroom, bedding and carpet.

If you’re still having second thoughts about using red as colors for your bedroom, you can instead use pink or peach. These colors may not be as bold as red, but they are also perfect to use for a master’s bedroom to have a romantic touch. Create a pink or peach love nest that has a masculine and feminine touch by using lighter shades of peach for the walls. Use cream or neutral colors like beige, white, gray or ivory for your bedding and dark wood for your fixtures.

However, red and peach are not just the only colors that you can use if you want to have the romantic master’s bedroom you desire. Aside from these colors, you can also use cool shades like crisp white, faded lavender and pale blue. The result will be a cozy private space with intimate and inviting atmosphere.

Calmness and tranquility will mostly promote passion. Opt for colors that are soothing and will provide a relaxing and serene ambiance like light creams, sea or pale green. Create a nature-inspired master’s bedroom by using blues and greens. A combination of these tones will remind you of the serenity of the meadows or forest.

Earth tones such as light brown and beige can also uplift romance and intimacy. Brighten up the room as you combine bold colors into your color scheme. Add cherry red furniture, scarlet red lampshades, green or slate blue pillows.

Proper lighting is also an essential factor for an intimate and cozy bedroom.  Avoid overhead lights that are too bright. Choose lights that are not too harsh on your eyes or put a dimmer switch for overhead lights. You can also opt for lights with multiple layers so you can control the brightness in your bedroom.

Uplift your mood by using warm, soft and fluffy fabrics and mattresses. Put a flowing canopy on the wall behind the bed or over your bed to add extra excitement in your private haven.

For a more passionate atmosphere, include scented candles and flowers in your decors and don’t forget to make your room clutter-free. Have enough storage for your clothes and dirty laundry. Keep the things in your room organized to avoid distractions.

A neat and breathable master’s bedroom adorned with decorations that are perfect for a romantic environment will surely awaken tons of sensations and will undoubtedly become the couple’s favorite spot in the house.
